"Is it safe?" is the question people ask right before they download, and it deserves a real answer instead of a reassuring slogan. The honest answer is that it depends which kind of safe you mean. There are three, and they behave very differently.
Safe for your phone
This is the one you can mostly control. Whenever a tool gets popular, copies of it spread, and some copies are repackaged with advertising, trackers or worse. The file you are comfortable with is the one from the official website, and you can lower the risk further with a few simple habits.
